We are looking to appoint a Technology Technician to support staff and students in the preparation and delivery of KS3 and KS4 curriculum for Design Technology.
Apart from being organised and methodical in their approach and have the ability to work without constant supervision, the ideal applicant will need to have relevant practical experience and will preferably have either a background of working in schools or have industry related experience as well as an awareness of relevant health & safety procedures.
The post would suit someone who has an interest in practical activities, and is flexible in their approach. Good organisational skills are essential for this varied and interesting post.
This is a permanent position for 10 hours a week, variable contract and the working pattern will be to accommodate the department’s needs between Monday to Friday, the successful applicant will be responsible for taking on a range of duties that include:
- Preparing lesson materials
- Assisting in the day to day organisation of the department
- Organising and taking part in demonstrations
- Supporting pupils across KS3, KS4
Excellent subject knowledge and practical skill are required to fit in as a Design Technology Technician so, in order to apply, you must have a minimum of 4 months of previous experience in a similar role in the last 2 years.
The successful candidate MUST have experience and be certified to use the following -
* Band Saw
* Table Saw
* Pillar Drill
